Please take a look at our recipe for Aloha Amoré and mix one for love or try one for wanton inebriation. Either way Aloha Amoré will delight with pineapple, grapefruit, chocolate and passion fruit. Sunshine and Starshine are getting ready for the spookiest Halloween yet. The giant punch bowl will be filled with "The Witches Minge" punch. Sure to get all your creeps and ghouls in the mood for a frightful evening in your tiki bar or any other room of the house. Just as scary is the launch of Windows 7 and the awesome videos on youtube. Have you seen the Windows 7 Launch Party? If not, you must. Quite possily one of the most horrible marketing campaigns ever thought up. But we can all sit back and poke fun at the retardedness. We give you plenty of other reasons to listen this week so tune in to hear them all. And, don't forget to tell at least one friend about the podcast so you can spread us like VD. Try "The Witches Minge"
1.5 oz passion fruit juice (you can substitute a passion fruit punch, usually in frozen section)
1 oz pineapple juice (not from concentrate, Dole)
1 oz orange juice (fresh squeezed)
1 oz passion fruit vodka
1 oz amber rum (Mt. Gay works well)
Squeeze of lemon juice
Toss everything in your shaker with ice. Pour into tiki mug filled with crushed ice. Garnish with pineapple spear. You can also make a large batch and serve in a punch bowl, float an ice ring in the punch bowl. For punch bowl, multiply recipe by 10, 20, 30 or more.
Mr. Prez sure has been up to a lot the last week. Speaking on almost every topic but the one most near and dear our hearts. Where is the political policy on tikinomics? What about the economy of a cocktail based culture. Surely Obama must have time to work out these important issues? Well, if he doesn't WE DO! So lets start with a super stomach satisfying ginger based drink. A little mint, some passion fruit and get ready to have your socks knocked off. Now that your toasted its time for Pumpkins latest installment of healing remedies. This week is parsley. Not just for your plate, but also great in juice and wine. Yep, WINE! Sunshine and Pumpkin also discuss how each of us can save our local tiki bar, fight stupidity, teach children that they can fail and learn from it, and much more. Make a Mingie Gingie for yourself:
1.5 oz Canton Ginger Liqueur
.5 oz Appleton white rum
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1/3 oz passion fruit syrup
1 large mint leaf torn into 8-10 pieces
Toss everything in a shaker with crushed or cracked ice. Shake very well until the shaker is too cold to hold. Strain into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with mint and a long piece of curly lemon zest.
