87 The Brazilian Tiki rides a Cable Car

Sunshine is normally the best of hosts, taking his party guests into consideration at all times. This week things got a little more personal. Sunshine brings us a delicious cocktail that features spiced rum, otherwise know as Pumpkins least favorite sugar cane derived alcohol. But, to her surprise the drink is damn good. The "Cable Car" is a spinoff of the much better known "Side Car." To make this drink you will need a good spiced rum, but Sunshine recommends Sailor Jerry spiced rum. Now that you have your drink try listening to the Creepy Creeps. Our second band featured that you will be able to hear live at Tiki Oasis this Summer in San Diego. Sunshine brings us some news from his trip to Las Vegas, including a visit to the new Trader Vics in sin city. Pumpkin is excited to discuss her discovery of a hom Brazilian waxing kit, but is a little afraid to try it herself. And some sad news. ATA and Aloha airlines both file for bankruptcy, so just try getting to Hawaii for anywhere under $1000. Thats a show! Listen, Drink, Enjoy!

Drink of the Week
Cable Car
1oz Sailor Jerry spiced rum
.5oz fresh lime juice
.5oz fresh lemon juice
.5oz orange curacao
.5oz simple syrup
Put everything in your shaker with 1 cup ice and shake till you can't hold the shaker, you want a little froth. Pour into a chilled collins glass with crushed ice and rimmed with cinnamon sugar. To make your own rimming sugar: 1/4 cup super fine sugar (bar sugar) and 1 tsp cinnamon. Mix well, then wet the rim of your glass and dip in cinnamon/sugar mixture. This drink really needs the cinnamon sugar rim, so don't skip it.

85 Two Years, Two Cocktails

Two years of podcasting in the Zen Tiki Lounge and hosts Sunshine and Pumpkin are ready for more. This very special anniversary show is full of cocktails and shenanigans. Our first cocktail takes us back to episode 1, back in March 2006. The pineapple pussy is a delicious concoction of fresh juices and Vodka. We don't use the "V" word much in the lounge but every once in a while you can find a truly tiki cocktail made with Russia's #1 export. We also try a great drink that listener Mark sent in. The Tiki Torch is not only a name but a very HOT drink. Both tasty and fiery. Shortly after the libations hit our funny side Pumpkin starts on her usual rant about topics as important as people having conversations with their co-workers while on the crapper. Sunshine was much more interested in telling everyone about the new show line up for this years Tiki Oasis VIII in San Diego this coming August 14-17. Lots of great bands, tiki vendors and plenty of fun in the sun. Lastly we couldn't end the show without something totally inappropriate. Cum trees are in bloom and Pumpkin expresses her disgust with the not so enticing aroma of the pretty little flowered tree.

84 Tiki Bars will travel

The transformation is almost complete. Our Zen Tiki Lounge has made the move to the new location and the process of putting things back together is well under way. Sunshine and Pumpkin bring you the latest episode from our make shift bar as a temporary stop before the grand opening and our 2 year anniversary show. Listen to this show for details and a little shenanigans to tide you over.

Drink of the Week
Mai Tai mixes
Sunshine and Pumpkin try two of the best selling pre made mai tai mixes for a review. One is pretty good, another not worth the drive to the liquor barn.

83 Do Valentines and Tikis make good company?

Aloha and Happy V Day from Sunshine and Pumpkin. You may recall that Valentines Day is not our favorite holiday, not because we don't enjoy taking time to make special time for our loved ones, but rather because of the over commercialization of it all. So we decided to keep up with a Vday theme but making lite of things. Our cocktail this week is inspired by the hot fires of love and passion, appropriately called Tiki Love. Pumpkin suggests the ultimate V day gift for the special someone in your life, thats right....the annual hot Mormon pin up calendar. Those boys never take it all off, and really? Would you want them to? We also had to spend more time than usual discussing listener mail since we got so much feedback about our recent cow vagina chat in episode 82. Pumpkin swears she doesn't remember anything about it, but Im not so sure. Sunshine shares tips on getting rid of all those old pictures you have laying around and how to back up copies safely. And if that wasn't good enough Pumpkin introduces our new segment, "Crazy Christian Cousin." Now complete with a theme song and 25% more shenanigans. So as you can see this show is packed to the hilt with love, tiki, and cow vagina. Enjoy.

82 Zen Pizza Delivery with Absinthe

Welcome to the Zen Tiki Lounge. This week Sunshine and Pumpkin share a tantalizing tropical drink in a communal bowl. Sometimes sharing a huge cocktail is more fun than having your own. After a few dips of "Trader Vics Rum Cup" we were ready to chat. To our horror we discovered that local pizza delivery companies are encouraging people to take showers and run errands after ordering pizza, what kind of crazy idea is this? When we order pizza we can't wait long enough for it. Perhaps there are some challenged people out there that need other people in the service delivery business to wait on them hand and foot. Next we discussed the ugly topic of 4 girls finger painting. Don't know what that is? Google it! You will be amazed and disgusted at the same time. Sunshine also throws out another endorsement for Aunt Barbara and her drag queen tupperware parties. Check out Aunt Barbara on Youtupe, or just click on our link this week. Enjoy the show.

Combine all ingredients in blender with 2 cups crushed ice, blend for a few seconds till smooth. Pour into scorpion bowl or other communal bowl and add one squezed half of the lime, orange and lemon. These add zest and aroma. Add 2 or more long drinking straws and suck with a friend.

81 Hai Karate, not just a cheesy 70's cologne

This weeks show was supposed to a little on the philosophical side, but Pumpkin took us in an entirely different direction. This show is mostly about cow vaginas. Yes, cow vaginas. Certainly the vaginas of cows have nothing to do with tiki, zen or anything of the sort. So, drink lots of Hai Karate and listen anyway.
