Akashi Guava Sour

With all the Ladies of the Lounge joining for a recent episode of ZTL podcast, Sunshine wanted to create a gin drink that everyone would enjoy. Sunshine and Starshine enjoy gin while Kalani and Pumpkin are skeptics. The Akashi Guava Sour was inspired by the botanicals in 135º East Hyōgo Dry Gin. Pink guava and citrus are great pairings for this Japanese inspired dry gin. A little bitters and some amaro give a boost to the botanicals.

2 ounces Dry Gin like 135º East Hyōgo Dry Gin

.25 ounce Marschino Liquor

.25 ounce Aperol

2.5 ounces Pink Guava juice

.5 ounce Grapefruit juice

.5 ounce Lemon juice

1 dash Angostura Bitters

In a shaker combine everything with ample ice. Shake very well for dilution and to thin the drink. Pour into a mug with crushed ice and garnish with a lemon wheel pierced with cloves. The cloves and citrus garnish add pleasant aroma and boost the flavor of the cocktail.
