Aloha and welcome to our Holiday Spectaculaarrr part 1. Sunshine and Pumpkin are toasting drinks in the Zen Tiki Lounge and giving our faithful listeners plenty of Holiday conversation topics and ideas for the merriest of cocktail filled gatherings. Pumpkin is trying to keep her holiday a little Zen, all her gifts have a purpose and come in reusable wrapping. Pumpkin also gives us some tips on how to avoid the high calories at the party buffet line (check out all the tips at (Real Simple Magazine). Sunshine simply suggests giving booze to your friends and family. Everyone will eventually use or need a good drink so no waste and the glass or plastic bottle is 100% recyclable. How wonderful. It was just a matter of time till Sunshine entangled his love for Star Trek into the Zen Tiki Lounge. Just back from seeing the new movie, Sunshine has lots to say while Pumpkin is off on her usual tangent. It’s choose your own cocktail this week, much like the old series of books…choose wisely. Another hot topic this week is very sweet. Simple syrup isn’t the only bar sweetner out there, try honey orange syrup, organic orgeat or maybe fresh made lime syrup. All perfect for a Spring/Summer cocktail. Make one, make them all. Your guests will know you mean business with your booze. We also give you a few more reasons to hate Oprah and Marth Stewart, perfect.

The name of the game is GET PUMPKIN DRUNK! We only do this to make our listeners happy. Email after email asks for more smashed Pumpkin. So, 1 shooter, 1 strong ass cocktail and a couple slices of rum cake. That’ll do her. After the demon rum starts coursing through her veins, her conversation goes south of the bikini. Pumpkin offers her 12 steps to a cheaper 2009. Free booze is good. Bar supplies on the cheap, we tell you how. Need to make some extra cash? Sell your stomach. All in this episode. Sunshine takes us back on course with Elvis Bday trivia and Mrs. Kravitz shenanigans. Our official drink of the week is the classic Dr. Funk. A refreshingly odd little drink. But damn good. There so much more but we honestly forgot to take notes, just listen and drink along.

This Weeks Drink: Dr. Funk

1.5 oz Dark rum

.25 oz Pastis or Absinthe

.5 oz lemon juice

.5 oz grenadine

1 oz lime juice (fresh squeezed)

Shake, shake, shake. Just pour into a tall glass filled with crushed ice. A long straw is perfect for Dr. Funk. Garnish with lemon wedge on rim and three or four cherries, olives or a combo of both. Funky!

This week we go over all of the basic booze, liquers and mixers you’ll need. Check us out next week for Part Two, where we’ll discuss decor barware, plants, lighting, and music. Sunshine and Pumpkin also discuss filtering crappy booze, magically changing into premium spirits. Pumpkin expresses dismay about her boyfriend flying across the Atlantic to ride stupid roller coasters. We also breifly discuss the failure of the Senate to pass the Federal Marriage Amendment. Yay Gays! Lastly, Pumpkin gives Sunshine his very-late birthday present.

The Blue Whale
1 1/2 oz Vodka
1 1/2 oz Blue Curacao
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
1 tsp Fine Sugar
Shake all with ice in a shaker, pour into chilled cocktail glass.

Drink of the Week�
Octopus
1.5 oz light rum 151
1.5 oz OJ
1.5 oz Passion fruit nectar
Dash of Angostura bitters
Soda
Hold the soda, pour the rest into a large snifter. Fill with finely crushed ice. Top with soda and stir. Garnish with a whole papaya.
