Tiki Italiano

If you aren't afraid of the fusion of different world cuisines then you should also not fear the fusion of spirits from around the globe.  Tiki Italiano mixes some of the classic tiki drink spirits and juices with a dash of savory additions from Italy.  Sweet, lightly tart and a somewhat bitter.  Try this cocktail before or after dinner.

2 ounces Pineapple Juice (not from concentrate)

1 ounce fresh white Grapefruit juice

1 ounce Appleton Estate Special (or another amber Jamaican rum)

.5 ounce Plantation overproof dark rum

.25 ounce Campari

1 ounce dry Vermouth (choose one with good savory character)

.5 ounce sour mix (50/50 lemon and lime juices mixed with equal amount of white sugar till dissolved)

Shake everything lightly with shaker filled with ice.  Strain into a fancy glass or tiki mug.  Garnish with fresh grapefruit or pineapple wedges and enjoy.  This is NOT a drink you want to over do it on.  Its a bit stiff but deceptively light.
