Aloha, welcome to the Zen Tiki Lounge. A dimly lit tiki bar that lives in your head. Each and every podcast we bring you a new exotic cocktail followed by plenty of tiki talk, exotica tunes and whatever else your loyal hosts Sunshine, Pumpkin and Starshine care to dispense. Politics, religion and current events are all free game. This podcast is not for the kiddies, so remember to get a sitter before tuning in. Mahalo.

The poor people of Egypt. Why can not such power transitions occur peacefully. In the violent nationwide protests against the government in Egypt on Friday after information from the health ministry 38 people have been killed. As representatives of the Ministry announced on Saturday in Cairo, twelve people died in the capital and killed in the city of Suez. About 1,900 people were injured, including 500 police officers. Since the protests began on Tuesday it has thus nearly 50 deaths and 2500 injuries given. The people I feel really sorry.

Check out this site for some good low-cal drink ideas: http://www.skinnytinis.com

I have the book and tried a bunch of them. I'm a hardcore Tiki cocktail person so I'm not too keen on most vodka martinis, but there are some good rum drinks on this site as well.

Go to "find a drink" and search for rum.

FYI, Torani has a ton of sugar-free syrups that can be used in lighter recipes.

Thank you so much for the talk about giving. I truly believe that we reap what we sow. I donate each pay period to Habitat for Humanity, so I was really happy to hear you Sunshine say you'd gone and volunteered with them. I wish I had more spare time, but I only give financially.

Kalani, thank you for bringing the talk about Affirmative Action back to reality with your comments about Institutional discrimitation, because it is definitely still alive an well in America. Let's not forget that the single biggest group helped by Affirmative Action is (and always has been) not blacks or any other racial group - It's women. I don't really detect the sense of 'entitlement' you mention either Sunshine, because I don't believe that the vast vast majority of people that have been helped by Affirmative Action even realize it. They've convinced themselves that 'merit' got them that job at that conglomerate or wherever and no other forces came into play..certainly not their *own* gender or skin color.

Ugh. Too much typing. Thanks for another great show. It really got me thinking...

Thank you so much for the talk about giving. I truly believe that we reap what we sow. I donate each pay period to Habitat for Humanity, so I was really happy to hear you Sunshine say you’d gone and volunteered with them. I wish I had more spare time, but I only give financially.

Kalani, thank you for bringing the talk about Affirmative Action back to reality with your comments about Institutional discrimitation, because it is definitely still alive an well in America. Let’s not forget that the single biggest group helped by Affirmative Action is (and always has been) not blacks or any other racial group – It’s women.
