Many of our listeners have tried to make Sunshine’s Very Spicy Rum. Because we have received such great feedback we decided a How To video would be a good idea for anyone who missed a step in the print version of the recipe. To make this spiced rum at home, all you need is: 750ml Amber Rum, 3 cinnamon sticks, 12 whole cloves, 12 whole allspice berries and a whole vanilla bean. You will also need an airtight bottle to hold your rum. Also in this episode is a quick Grapefruit Daiquiri made with homemade cinnamon syrup from episode 1 of Tiki Drink How To.

Hi Sunshine,
We here in Germany from cocktailpodcast.de love your show and videos.. but can you please compress the video a little more.
Downloading them on the iPhone is still a pain. I’m using Instacast – great Podcasting-App BTW – here, but even on iTunes it takes at least half an hour, sometimes up to an hour (on Wifi behind a 64 MBit/s cable line). I guess across the Alantic there is just not so much datarate left, when it finally hits my last mile.
But 539MB for ~8min of Video, that’s a datarate for Full-HD video. I just tried to reencode your video using the free “Handbrake” software. Set to constant quality (RF=21.5), main profile (so it works on iPhone/iPad), full resolution and with 96kbit/s AAC audio. I can see no obvious difference in video quality, so it still looks great, but the file comes out to 161MB .. over 70% saved.
But still.. love the videos, please keep up the good work and I’m looking forward to the next one.

Thank you for the feedback! We have re-compressed and re-posted this video. Let us know how this works for you! We are excited to do more video podcasts but want to be sure they are easy and quick to download without losing any of that high quality we so require

This was an excellent episode. I love how simple yet productive it is. As soon as you said will keep for as long as needed, I immediately thought Christmas for friends and family. As always, love the podcast!!
Mahalo for the feedback. File has been compressed and is now much smaller. Happy streaming.
