Aloha Zen Tiki Lounge, I actually just discovered your podcast today and it’s wonderful! After living in Honolulu (Manoa Valley to be exact) for 5 years and then moving to the mainland, I miss the sights and sounds of the tropics dearly. Hopefully I can make it to one of the Tiki events in the future!
Anyway I wanted to comment on the listener’s question about where to find a great Tiki dress. I am a lover of all things vintage but especially fashion. If she has trouble finding the perfect dress at a vintage shop or boutique, there is an amazing vintage reproduction company in Bali called Whirling Turban (http://whirlingturban.com/). Their dresses are often in the New Look style and always have clean, flattering and figure-hugging lines. Not only do they offer great ready-made dresses but you can actually have one custom made to your figure (though it does cost more). These dresses are not the cheapest around but you are certainly getting what you pay for with their high quality. I worked with these ladies for the perfect sarong style wedding dress and couldn’t be happier with it!
