ZTL 156 Annabelle GASH’s the Lounge

Aloha and welcome to 2010.  Lets just forget about that dirty old 2009 and move on.  So many new cocktails, classics as well.  And, plenty of shenanigans.  We promised to bring you 30% more breasts in this years show so we start out with a visit from Annabelle of the newly launched GASH Show on youtube.  Sunshine and Pumpkin stop by GASH to mix up some drinks and a less than professional conversation.  Would you expect anything less?  This week Sunshine is pleased that the LAPD gives the boy scouts of America the old heave ho and we check out the Beach Outpost blog by Brad.  And Pumpkin brings some more of her natural remedies.  Thats just a small taste of whats in store on this podcast.  Be sure to mix up a Puckered Parrot and enjoy with us!

Mix up a Puckered Parrot

1 oz Canton Ginger Liquor

1 oz Dark Rum

1 oz Pineapple Juice

2 oz Fresh Grapefruit Juice

1/2 oz Fresh Lemon Juice

1/2 oz Ginger Sour Syrup*

Shake everything and pour into wide mouthed glass filled with crushed ice.  Garnish with a grapefruit wheel.  (*Ginger Sour Syrup:  Boil 1 cup sugar with 1/2 cup water in a saucepan till liquid turns clear.  Set aside.  To 1/2 cup 151 Rum, add 4 tablespoon fresh shopped ginger, 2 tablespoons fresh grapefruit zest, 1/2 cup fresh grapefruit juice.  Let it sit covered overnight.  Carefully strain out solids with coffee filter or cheese cloth.  Chill.  Stores for about 90 days)

  • You mention the Mojito in your Podcast and I figured that I’d send a link to my very own recipe for this delicious mint (or spearmint!) cocktail from Cuba! You can add some tikiness to this cocktail by throwing in a slice of bamboo as a swizzle stick!
